This first milestone assignment begins your work on the course project, an incident response analysis and plan for a real or fictional organization of your choice.
The threat, and the reality of intrusive security events has for organizations changed and disrupted information technology’s role in the workplace for now close to twenty years. The increase in number and sophistication of attacks has introduced to companies new forms of risk that are leaving many unprepared to handle the response to an incident nor the response to their constituents. To keep up in how we communicate, interact, protect, and operate securely, businesses have had to incorporate technologies into their risk and project management plans to remain vigilant in a threat-response mode. Developing appropriate technical solutions to align with business processing begins with drafting, analyzing, and recommending the necessary requirements that adaptive to the organization and to industry.
For this project, students will play the role of an assessor and the planner assigned to develop the primer that will represent an incident response plan for their real or fictional organization (Students may also choose Northeastern U as your org). This plan is seeking to establish a response, but it must rank the risks and assess the technology with the people. You will evaluate known incidents in the same industry to provide to the business leadership with your recommendations of a response that takes into account the nuisances of your organization.
