The organisational change management policy makes organisation highly competitive in the volatile market scenario. However, it has been observed that only one third of the organisational change management efforts become successful by the leaders, due to the presence of the emergent change. The emergent changes are creating major resistance from the workforce’s end. Therefore, analysing the reasons of complexity and resistance has become a major agenda to the marketers to make the change process successful. The current study has attempted to identify the utility of complexity theory to implement strategic change, considering the case study of Tesco. Furthermore, how and why the workforce resistance creates negative political behaviour across the organisation has been evaluated in the present case study of Tesco. Finally, it has been identified that the role of employee engagement could make the organisational change process more effective.
