The current study deals with the waste management practices adapted by the counter service restaurants in Batangas city, Philippines. The author has stressed on reducing the food establishment demand. In order to increase the operational efficiency and reduce the operational wastages, main focus has been given on the utilisation of the raw materials that can be recycled. The counter service restaurants have found difficulties to maintain the regulations set up by the Governments regarding the waste management.

The author has stressed on reducing the food establishment demand. In order to increase the operational efficiency and reduce the operational wastages, main focus has been given on the utilisation of the raw materials that can be recycled. The counter service restaurants have found difficulties to maintain the regulations set up by the Governments regarding the waste management. In the study it has been highlighted that the counter service restaurants like Jollibee and Chowking has been taking the necessary actions to deal with the waste management issues. The restaurants have been following the Ecological Solid waste Management act. The current study reveals that the restaurants have been reducing the use of the styro packaging products to the washable meal ware. Moreover, the managements are focusing on segregating the biodegradable and non-biodegradable products. The study emphasises on how effectively the restaurants have been able to meet the waste management policies of the Governments. The proper plan of actions has been set up by the restaurants to deal with the waste management issues. The descriptive study made by the researcher has helped to understand the waste management practices adapted by the restaurants. From the responses managers and staffs the impact of the waste management methods has been evaluated. The study has also focused on the necessary incentives needs to be taken in order to deal with the waste management of the restaurants industry.
