Term Paper Requirements Each student is required to write a term paper on current research topic relevant to the subjects covered in this class. The purpose of the term paper is to demonstrate that you can apply the knowledge and skills learned in this class to analyze major issues in contemporary Chinese society. The paper must include an introduction of the selected topic and analysis based on your interview or survey data. The paper should be typewritten, double-spaced, in Times New Roman font, size 12, one-inch margins (top, bottom, left, and right), and must follow the outline shown below. Although there is a page limitation (3-5 pages), a good term paper may go beyond that limitation to provide in-depth analysis. Format of the term paper (100 points):
Cover page (Term paper title, course number, names of student and instructor, date, etc.) (2 points)
Introduction (Explain the issue, and the motivation that attracts you for selecting this topic; summarize previous studies on the topic; references (from our readings or beyond) are needed whenever a fact or statement is made) (15 points)
Data and methodology (introduce how your obtain your data and the background of your interviewees) (5 points)
