A concentric cylinder viscometer consists of a stationary inner cylinder, closed at the bottom with outer diameter 2 in, and a rotating outer cylinder, also closed on the bottom, that has an inner diameter of 2.1 in. The bottom of each cylinder is separated by a distance of 0.15 in. The space between the cylinders are filled to a depth of 9 in. At a speed of 30 revolutions every 4 s, a torque of 3 in- is measured on the inner cylinder. What is the viscosity of the fluid? What proportion of the measured torque is due to the fluid between the bottoms of the cylinders?
