There is a long waiting list for Google's on-site child-care

There is a long waiting list for Google's on-site child-care benefit. Google's solution is to let the market ration the spaces to enroll children in child care by raising the price.
Is this a good idea? What principle is Google using to decide who gets child care? Do you agree with this? If not, what principle of allocation would you use for deciding whose child gets to enroll in on-site child care?
