Based on the answer that you provided for my previous question, what type of statistics should I use to analyze the results? This was the answer you provided "I am conducting a study in which I take 1 group of people and give them a choice between three variables. They must pick one. Then I will later compare the results and see which variable got chosen the most. What kind of research design is this? I am told by my teacher it is not a correlational study. “Descriptive research” refers to research that provides an accurate portrayal of characteristics of a particular individual, situation or a group. With the help of these studies, researcher can discover new meaning, describe what exists, determine frequency and categorize information. Descriptive Research basically deals with everything that can be counted or studied. Here, I am give a group of people who have to choose one among three variables. Thus, here variables which are studied are countable. Descriptive Research is helpful when I want to find which particular among a list of variables has the maximum frequency. Here I want to see which variable got chosen the most. Thus, I can say that the given research design is Descriptive Research. It can’t be Experimental research because an experimental research establishes cause and effect relationship. And in an experimental research, the researcher manipulates and controls the independent variable to study its effect on Dependent variable. In the given problem there is no such manipulation is possible."
